MARVELOUS LOVE


On a cold  christmas eve in 1952, when korea was in the middle of a civil war, one young woman struggled along a village street, because she was pregnant and about to deliver a child. She pleaded with passerby's."help me ! Please. My baby"   no one paid attention to her. A middle-aged couple walked by and one of them pushed her away and mocked her saying "where is the father ? " the couple laughed and went on. The woman almost doubled up from a contraction as she watched them go. "please.." she begged. She heard of a missionary living nearby who might help her. Quickly she began walking to that village, hoping the man will help her and the baby. Shivering and in pain she struggled over the frozen countryside. But the night was so cold . Snow began to fall. Realizing that the time was near to deliver her baby, she took shelter under a bridge.


There alone her baby was born on christmas eve. Worried about her new born son, she took off her own clothes, wrapped them around the baby and hold him close in the warm circle of her arms.
The next day, the missionary was walking in the snow to deliver christmas packages. As he walked along, he heard the cry of a baby, so he followed the sound to a bridge, under it he found a young mother frozen to death, still holding her crying baby. The missionary tenderly lifted the baby out of her arms.
When the baby was 10 years old, his now adoptive father told him the story of his mothers death. The young boy cried, realizing the sacrifice his mother had made for him. Next morning the missionary found the boy at the bridge kneeling down in the snow,naked and shivering and his clothes piled up beside him. Moving closer he heard the boy saying through chattering teeth "Mother, were you this colɗ for me? Do you have to go through all this for me?"
That story reminɗs me of another mother and son who sacrificed so much. One winter night, Jesus left his home, his glory and the warmth of heaven to be born in a stable to an unwelcome world. Just before he was born, mary his mother was not welcomed in any of the  inns in bethlehem instead she delivered her baby in the darkness of a cold stable. The creator of the universe, the perfect judge who could destroy this world with a single word, was willing to endure this hostile condition for you and me. That is unconditional love!  God wants us to express this divine love to others. We became example of Gods love to the world as we love our neighbours sincerely. You may confess "i don't have that kind of love to share with anyone"  but we have the potential to love anyone God put in our path.
    In conclusion, let us remember that if not for love, Jesus would not leave the warmth of heaven to be born into this cruel world for us to have life. Jesus is the reason for this season!  Let us celebrate him by extending this love to one another

Today was Kamwe people's cultural day and the presentation of a book, titled " kamwe people of No rthern Nigeria: origin, history and culture " by the author Iliya Yame Kwache,  which depicts the journey of the Kamwe people , starting from their origin.   The Kamwe people live in northern Nigeria of Adamawa state whose main residence is a local government called Michika. My greatest fear

According to Wikipedia Fear is a feeling induced by perceived danger. It is also a strong emotion induced by anticipated danger. Fear is normal and it’s like a shield designed to protect us humans from perceived danger. It’s often directed towards a situation or objects that don’t necessarily pose a real danger. Phobia is often termed as an irrational fear towards a situation, living creature, object, etc. It’s being termed as' irrational' because people find it unreasonable. Take for example xanthophobia, the fear of yellow colour. People with xanthophobia fear anything yellow including the Sun. Different people in different countries share different way of life. During the olden days before colonialism what the people respect more is their ethics and traditions. And anyone that does not follow this traditions can be severely punished at a point. The game hunt and cultivation of farmland has been the way families can feed themselves. The females are fond of gathering firewood and cooking while The males are always eager to impress them through wrestling contest, game hunt,popularity ETC.
